Nationals & Petersburg Show

I went to my first Holland Lop Nationals & had a great time. It was awesome seeing so many nice Hollands.  I debated if I should even take any because I wasn't sure how we would do against the bigger breeders. I hoped we might place but figured we probably wouldn't. The first class, SSB,  had 66 entries and it was really neat seeing how such a big class was placed. The judge kept sending bucks back until she had it down to 25. I was thrilled that Chrome was still up there & we had placed in the top 25. Slowly the class got smaller & smaller & Chrome was still up there. I couldn't believe it. When I realized we had made it to the top 5 I started to get a little sick to my stomach. LOL He ended up taking 2nd place. The judge said she would have given him first if he had been a little bigger but he is a young sr & weighs only 2 pounds 14 ounces. She also said that when he does gain a little weight, he will be unbeatable. Wow! So proud to have that buck in my to get some blue babies from him :) Lola placed 15th in her class & Maggie placed 23rd so it turned out to be a really good day.

The next day I showed Ace & Aby (Dwarf Hotots) in the OSRBA show. This was the first time we would be showing against big breeders. Jeffery wasn't able to show them in Youth, so I showed them in Open. I really just wanted to see how they compared, never thought we would win, but we did. Aby won BOB & Ace won BOS. I could not stop smiling on the way home. What an amazing trip!

The Petersburg show was the very next weekend. It was cold & raining & not a lot of people showed up. The Holland Lops did great winning both BOV's & one BOSV. Lola won BOB. The Netherland Dwarfs did good too, winning a BOG & 2 BOSG's & then LadyBug won BOS. Even though the classes were small we still earned at least 3 legs so I was very happy. Then to make it even better Lola won Reserve Best In Show!!!!! I never thought  in a million years we would have a Pride N Joy rabbit do so well. I still can't believe it. Chrisney will be her last show, as she will be bred soon. I hope she ends her show career with a bang!
